Wednesday 13 - Bloodwork
About one year ago I reviewed Wednesday 13’s latest full-length record Skeletons. The EP I’m reviewing now, Bloodwork, should have been in stores a month after the release of Skeletons, but it wasn’t. Due to a misunderstanding someone sent iTunes the mp3s of this EP instead of the mp3s of Skeletons. Instead of having the tracks removed they stayed fully downloadable. The band struggled to come to a solution whether Bloodwork would be given a CD release or not. You may get by now they’ve decided to give it a CD release anyway.

This EP features six tracks that didn’t really fit on Skeletons, but were worthy enough to be heard by the fans. Also Wednesday 13 didn’t want to split them up and have scattered bonus tracks here and there. For the die-hard fans of Wednesday 13 this is a nice gadget, but if you’ve never been a real fan of these horrorpunkers you also shouldn’t try Bloodwork. The disc contains two previously unreleased songs that are typically Wednesday 13 songs, a cover of Tom Petty’s ‘Runnin’ Down A Dream’, the 4th re-recording of ‘I Love To Say Fuck’ and two acoustic tracks from Skeletons. Nothing really new under the sun, but fun enough for a couple of spins in your CD-player.
