Obituary - 013, Kleine Zaal
Obituary was scheduled to play in the 013 in Tilburg, the flyer indicated that the event would be held in “The Choice”, which is the main stage of the 013. However, when I arrived, I found out it wasn’t held in The Choice, but on the small stage in the “Kleine zaal”. While outside temperatures were really outraging, I only could think of the sweaty atmosphere inside with a band like Obituary!

Too bad I arrived quite late, that’s why I could not watch Leng Tch’e and Severe Torture. I only witnessed one song of Severe Torture, but the heat inside wasn’t pleasant.

Obituary:
We were chilling outside when someone yelled that Obituary was about to start. We rushed inside and found out that the temperature inside was about to hit boiling point. From Threatening Skies to Slowly We Rot, the temperature only kept rising and soon there wasn’t a dry spot to find on my shirt. Opening with Threatening Skies and finishing with Slowly We Rot, we had about the same set list as in the Effenaar, which was sold out. Today, the “kleine zaal” wasn’t even really crowded. They also played 1 or 2 new tracks from their upcoming album Frozen In Time, which definitely is a good title because the songs sounded quite the same as those older songs. With perhaps a temperature of 40 degrees, everybody was totally wasted after the show, which was close to an hour. Obituary was definitely back and they were enjoying themselves on stage. A very nice performance of a band that recently began to come back!
