Born From Pain, The Setup - Moshing Matinee
This will be my first live review where I myself assisted to the monitor mix. So most of what I saw this evening was from the side of the stage. Anyways, it was time for some good ol hardcore and metalcore with The Setup and Born From Pain!

Ive seen The Setups name many times, but I dont think Ive actually seen them play. Damn, this was some energetic and incredibly powerful hardcore man. I believe there were two people substituting for other members, being the bassist and one guitarist, but this couldnt be noticed in their play. The frontman looked like a beast on the loose while the drummer bashed his kit like there was no tomorrow. A more than worthy opening act for the dudes yet to come, and definitely something for every hardcore fan to check out!

These headliners known as Born From Pain from the dirty South of The Netherlands (although only one original Dutch member is left, the rest is foreign) came to destroy, and so they did. This was the first time I saw them with vocalist Kevin Otto formerly of End Of Days (which happens to be a Schwarzenegger movie, extra credit for that!) and although I must say that I personally miss previous vocalist Ch, this guy did a splendid job replacing him. It appeared that he was quite ill at this show, but this couldnt be concluded from he way he flew over the stage. Another highly energetic and brutal performance raged over the small crowd, which was especially appreciated by a couple of bouncing kids in front of the stage. Another good performance by one of the top Dutch hardcore/metal acts.
