Bleed From Within - Uprising
The Scottish deathcore band Bleed From Within has toured with bands like Suicide Silence, Bury Tomorrow, Crossfaith, All That Remains, Caliban, Soilwork and many others. In The Netherlands they have shown many people that they are a good live band and have come back for some headline shows as well.“Uprising” is the third record the band has released and the previous two received some positive reviews. This record starts off quite promising as well, with a nice intro followed by the first song “Colony”. This song really wakes you up and makes you want to listen to the rest of the record immediately. The sad note, however, is that the next 11 songs sound somewhat alike, so your mind will just wander off instead of focus on this record. It isn’t a very bad record, but this is an album that you play in the background when doing your homework or something else. Furthermore, the songs themselves are very nice to hear, but when you listen to the whole album it becomes a blur. The best exception to this finding is the title track of the song, which gets your mind back to the album.
Apart from all the songs sounding alike, the band still shows that they have some talent and they really know what they’re doing. Knowing that the band is at its best when performing live, you should still give these songs a chance. They will be very nice to hear, especially when they are mixed with the older songs in a live show. All in all a steady record, but it would be nice to hear some variation.
