Various Artists - Headbangers Ball: The Revenge

Headbangers Ball part 3 has been created. Again a two-disc album with 38 tracks in total. 38 tracks which together deliver you over 2½ hours of hard rock and metal. What could one wish more? A low price maybe? Check! That one’s included as well…

Disc 1

And believe it or not…the third edition of Headbangers Ball again starts with Slipknot followed by Korn. I can sum up the rest of the awesome bands on this disc but I recommend you to just read the tracklisting below. Of course it contains hardly any old songs and fortunately there are some very exclusive tracks added as well. Like the new Hatebreed song ‘To The Threshold’, typically Hatebreed but still a kick ass song! And what to think of Killswitch Engage’s ‘A Bid Farewell (live)’?

But, like almost every album, there’s some minors on the album as well. I mean, why does someone put a band like HIM in such a great tracklist? Probably a matter of taste (although I can’t even name one person that actually likes this band). And since music always is a matter of taste there might be some other songs you’ll dislike (just like I do) but hey! 19 tracks…big chance you’ll like the biggest part of those so why worry about those 2 or 3 sucky songs?

All in all disc 1 can be considered to be a nice addition to your collection. Then think of the fact there actually is another disc to enjoy and then make a choice: either you’re buying this album already or read the second part of this review to be totally convinced.

Disc 2

Again a disc with some very exclusive tracks. With the most wanted exclusive track I could wish right now…a new 36 Crazyfists track, awesome! Check out that breakdown! If this song represents the whole new album then 36 CF did some good promotion on Headbangers Ball. Furthermore there’s an exclusive Walls Of Jericho track on the disc and the same goes for Kingdom Of Sorrow, a band that consists of Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed), Kirk Windstein (Crowbar/Down) and Derek Kerswill (Seemless). That sounds like something good! And so it is!

You know what?! I think that’s enough. Just buy this album or think of how much you’ll probably hate this album and wonder why you read this review in the first place.
